Hi friends, welcome back! Summer officially starts today and as usual, I’m ready with my Summer Bucket List. We have a busy summer ahead so I’m not sure how far I’ll get on the list, but it’s nice to think of all the fun possibilities. We booked a house in the Catskills for the Fourth of July weekend and are looking forward to some fresh air, hiking, grilling, and roasting some marshmallows.

  2. Looking forward to cooler temps! You know all about this from your years in Michigan and NYC. Now that we live in the South we endure the long, hot months of summer. We’ll be in San Diego for two weeks in mid-August for this reason. Can’t wait.

    1. Very true! The city is already feeling muggy, hope it’s not another summer of 100+ temps. I hate coming home and needing a shower from a simple errand. San Diego will be a nice time! Now that I see the college football commercials I’m already looking forward to fall.

  5. Looks like a great list Lyssy. Summer is never our favourite month, but it is a time to be treasured. What I hope to do this summer is go for lots of forest walks (with mosquito jacket), take long bike rides in the country, spend a lot of time on the back deck (behind bug screens), do gardening and lawn care, complete several home improvement projects, have a few backyard BBQs and maybe, just maybe have a taco Tuesday out on a local patio. Cheers. Allan

    1. I feel like we are tricked into liking summer because of summer vacation as a kid, but the heat and bugs are killer. Sounds like a pretty busy summer for you. A taco Tuesday with an ice cold margarita sounds pretty nice 🙂

  11. Happy summer! With your list, you’ll definitely be occupied all summer long! While some on your list are NYC-specific, I will say that others are similar to what I have in store, here on the West Coast! Especially trying out a new ice cream shop…have a wonderful summer!

  15. Those ice cream holders look handy. The biggest problem eating cones is it melting while you eat it.
